Founded in Osaka in 2000 by professional skateboarder and filmmaker Shinpei Ueno, TIGHTBOOTH began as a skateboarding production company built around videos, photography and documenting Japan's street skating. Ueno's LENZ series became a defining part of the project, capturing the distinctive style and energy of the Japanese skate scene.

TIGHTBOOTH has since grown into a broader skate and streetwear brand, bringing together skateboarding, clothing, art and design. The brand launched its own skateboard deck line in 2021, adding decks to its established range of clothing and accessories while continuing to draw on Ueno's distinctive visual approach to skateboarding.
