Founded by Sam Chin in 2017, Smile and Wave emerged from a spider-infested backyard shed in Melbourne/Naarm as a deeply personal exploration of design, cultural heritage, and creative expression. Fast Times stocks the brand because it represents more than just clothing—it's a narrative of resilience, cultural identity, and intentional design. Inspired by Chin's Paw Paw (grandmother), who immigrated from Hong Kong with six children and a remarkable ability to create clothing from necessity, the brand carries a profound Asian influence infused with unique color, patterns, and texture. Designed to be inclusive and gender-fluid, Smile and Wave creates garments that celebrate every body while maintaining a keen focus on sustainability and continuous improvement.
