Spinifex Teal Hayes Deck

Founded in 2018 by proud Eastern Arrernte man and Traditional Owner of Ltyentye Apurte, Nicky "Skateboard" Hayes, Spinifex Skateboards is Australia's first Indigenous owned and operated skate brand. Growing out of Nicky's campaign to build the first indoor skatepark in a remote Northern Territory community, Spinifex became a vehicle for funding First Nations Skate Tours and connecting young people in Ltyentye Apurte to a wider world through skateboarding. Nicky is the Northern Territory's first Indigenous qualified skateboard instructor and a recipient of the NT NAIDOC Sports Award for his youth engagement and entrepreneurial work.

Every purchase of Spinifex Skateboards merchandise directly supports the brand's annual skate trips and youth programs for the Ltyentye Apurte community, making it one of the most meaningful skate brands you can support. The community has since opened the first community-funded outdoor concrete skatepark in a remote Aboriginal NT community, a testament to what Nicky and the people of Ltyentye Apurte have built together. Skateboarding as it should be: for community, for young people, and for the future.
