Fucking Awesome began in New York in the early 2000s as a creative project driven by professional skateboarder Jason Dill. Influenced by the city's skate, art and street culture, Dill started producing T-shirts and graphics using found imagery and hand-made ideas, with early pieces sold through the Supreme store on Lafayette Street. What began as a small DIY project eventually developed into a full skateboard brand, with longtime friend and fellow Alien Workshop pro Anthony Van Engelen joining Dill as the company grew.

Fucking Awesome's identity has always been closely tied to Dill's creative direction. Collage-based graphics, found imagery, photography and deliberately provocative artwork became defining elements of the brand, while the Class Photo series turned childhood school photographs of team riders into some of FA's most recognisable graphics. The brand's approach to clothing and board design has deliberately avoided the conventional seasonal fashion model, with Dill treating FA more as an outlet for ideas than a traditional clothing company.

Since becoming a full skateboard company, Fucking Awesome has built a team featuring some of the most distinctive skaters of its generation, including Dill, AVE, Tyshawn Jones, Na-Kel Smith, Dylan Rieder and more. Today, FA continues to combine skateboarding with art, photography and street culture, maintaining the unconventional creative approach that defined the brand from the beginning.
